One Direction announced the upcoming tour for the UK via video on September 27, 2011. Tickets went on sale on October 1, 2011, and sold out within minutes.
Tour dates for the second leg of the tour in Australia and New Zealand were announced on February 24, 2012, and went on sale on March 2, 2012.
On March 21, 2012, One Direction announced an extended North American leg of the tour.
DVD
In January, 2012, One Direction were filmed during a show of the Up All Night Tour at Bournemouth BIC Arena, and it was shown on BBC Three. In May, the concert was published on DVD and was released in the United Kingdom on 28th May, 2012.
